Supply Chain Coordinator - Vaughan
About Lumon Production
Lumon Production is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated Supply Chain Coordinator to join our team. This key role will oversee inventory management, inter-company purchasing, and the logistical flow of materials, ensuring efficient operations and timely deliveries. The Supply Chain Coordinator will work closely with production, accounting, and external suppliers to meet company goals and maintain high service levels. This position is pivotal in balancing both the operational flow on the floor and the strategic management of inventory, ensuring optimal levels to meet production demands.
Responsibilities:
Material Forecasting & Inventory Management:
- Forecast material requirements and inventory levels based on internal workload expectations and historical data, using advanced reporting and forecasting tools.
- Oversee and manage inventory processes, ensuring accurate tracking, movement, and availability of materials in line with production schedules and customer demand.
- Resolve inventory discrepancies and address issues related to stock levels, supply chain interruptions, or material shortages.
- Work closely with the production team to ensure inventory levels align with fluctuating demand, especially in cases of unexpected order spikes.
Purchase Order Preparation & Coordination:
- Oversee the preparation, processing, and tracking of purchase orders for raw materials, including glass and aluminum products, as well as finished goods.
- Ensure timely order fulfillment by coordinating with vendors and suppliers to maintain optimal inventory levels of glass and aluminum products.
- Place glass and aluminum orders with suppliers in accordance with production needs and customer demand, ensuring any sudden increases in orders are promptly addressed.
Logistics & Shipping Coordination:
- Prepare and manage Bill of Lading (BOL) documentation for BC/dealer orders and ensure smooth shipping processes for both domestic and international deliveries.
- Prepare all required shipping documents for US-bound shipments, ensuring compliance with customs and international shipping regulations.
- Coordinate transportation logistics, including freight forwarding, carrier selection, and cost optimization to ensure on-time deliveries.
- Monitor and track shipments to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of materials to production facilities and customer locations.
System Integration & Daily Synchronization:
- Sync daily with the ERP system and Production Inventory Carriage System, investigating and resolving discrepancies before posting to ensure system accuracy.
- Enter batch profiles and component orders into Microsoft Dynamics 365 (Finance & Operations), ensuring accurate and timely updates to the system.
Supplier & Vendor Management:
- Work with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials, including following up with customer service teams in Finland for component orders.
- Monitor vendor performance and follow up on glass and aluminum product orders to ensure adherence to agreed delivery schedules and quality standards.
- Research and evaluate new suppliers for cost savings, improved quality, and reliable delivery performance.
Inventory Audits & Cycle Counts:
- Coordinate and manage annual physical inventory counts, audits, and weekly cycle counts of raw materials, including glass and aluminum products, and finished goods.
- Identify and correct discrepancies in inventory counts, adjusting in the system as necessary, and ensuring accurate records are maintained.
- Perform negative adjustments at month-end and ensure proper reconciliation of all inventory data.
Production Floor Collaboration & Inventory Optimization:
- Spend 50% of your time on the production floor at the Vaughan office/facility to directly oversee inventory management and assist in resolving material flow or stock-related issues.
- Support the production teams by forecasting and ensuring timely availability of materials (including glass and aluminum) to prevent production delays.
- Proactively address inventory levels to prepare for sudden spikes in production or demand, adjusting inventory orders accordingly.
Supply Chain Methodology Implementation & Continuous Improvement:
- Lead and support projects to implement and maintain industry-standard supply chain methodologies such as Kanban, Min-Max inventory systems, Just-in-Time (JIT), Six Sigma, Kaizen, and 5S.
- Collaborate with teams to refine and improve processes, using lean principles to reduce waste, optimize workflow, and maintain high standards in inventory management.
- Utilize Just-in-Time (JIT) to ensure minimal inventory levels while preventing stockouts, aligning closely with production schedules to reduce excess inventory.
- Apply Six Sigma methodologies to analyze data, reduce process variation, and improve overall supply chain performance through data-driven decisions.
- Drive continuous improvement efforts to streamline operations, reduce costs, and enhance overall efficiency.
Project Management & Collaboration:
- Lead or support cross-functional projects focused on process improvements, workflow optimization, and inventory control systems.
- Monitor the implementation of supply chain initiatives, providing ongoing support and adjustments as needed.
Qualifications:
Experience & Knowledge:
- 2-5 years of experience in a similar supply chain, logistics, or inventory management role within a manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong understanding of supply chain management, procurement processes, and inventory control.
- Proficient in logistics coordination, transportation management, and shipping regulations for both domestic and international markets.
- Experience with ERP systems (preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365 (Finance & Operations)) and inventory management software.
- Familiarity with lean supply chain methodologies like Kanban, Kaizen, Just-in-Time (JIT), Six Sigma, and 5S.
- Experience purchasing and managing inventory of glass and aluminum products.
- Experience working on the production floor, with an understanding of how inventory management supports day-to-day production operations
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Windows, with the ability to adapt to and learn new software systems.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, suppliers, and customers.

You will report directly to the Production & Supply Chain Manager, Patrick Rafacz, and work both in the office and on the production floor at the Vaughan office/facility. This position is based on a 40+ hour work week, with salary based on experience.
